What is SonicBiblia® Inc?

SonicBiblia® is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, dedicated to helping people apply God's truth to life with a special focus on remembering God's Word through audio-visual, verse by verse memorization lessons.

The goal of SonicBiblia™ is to increase Bible engagement worldwide as measured by time reading the Bible, meditating on God's Word and quoting Scripture. The effect of reading the Bible and remembering it later is manifold.

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

What is your mission statement?

SonicBiblia™ Inc. is increasing Bible engagement worldwide by sharing God's Word through compelling visual imagery, dramatic audio reading and persistent memorization lessons for individual Bible verses. The ministry of SonicBiblia™ is helping people live victoriously by applying God's truth to life.

How do SonicBiblia® memorization lessons work?

Step #1:

Visual activation is the first step. Spend a few seconds reading the verse & reference and briefly think about its meaning.

Step #2

Listen to a SonicBiblia™ memorization lesson from start to finish for any verse you have chosen. Each lesson lasts approximately 10 - 15 minutes. The lesson will lead you through a series of spaced repetitions, laying the neural pathway for memory recall.

Step #3

Periodic Review.

After completing a lesson, the system will immediately store it in your Archive and remind you to review it after a short period of time. The system will move the lesson into your Review section, where you are prompted to review it by reciting the verse from memory. Once you have reviewed the Bible verse, you can send it back to Archive, where it will wait a slightly longer period of time before returning again to your Review section. This process will follow a graduated interval recall methodology, prompting you to review each verse before you forget it.

SonicBiblia™ uses a proprietary system of repetition to capture the verse in your short-term memory and a system of graduated interval recall to ensure each memorized Bible verse becomes part of your long-term memory.

Step #4

Assess your Progress. Check your progress at any time to see what you've done, gain insight and be encouraged!

What Bible translation do you use?

SonicBiblia® uses the English Standard Version of the Holy Christian Bible by Crossway® Books and Bibles, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. The ESV® was chosen because it is an essentially literal translation that is faithful to the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek text. The following is an excerpt from the Preface of the ESV® Bible:

ESV Translation Legacy

The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale's New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971(RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of precision were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for this generation and generations to come.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought into line with current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring quality of language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of its church over the last five centuries.
